Esteban Txerran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Nacho González tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Iribarren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulizes Sola in the 8th minute of play. Nacho González showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Stanislao, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 14thth minute of the game Denis Stanislao who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nacho González stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Denis Stanislao's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute Denis Stanislao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nacho González saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clóvis Lima to maneuver through the defense. Denis Stanislao took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nacho González. Nacho González dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 24th minute Denis Stanislao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nacho González saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Sacronas Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ulizes Sola came free, but Jorge Iribarren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Denis Stanislao came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Sacronas Futbol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Stanislao couldn't finish the play. Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Astillero del Guayas from getting a goal against them. Sacronas Futbol Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hernan Crespo in the 35th minute. It was a well-played corner which Óscar Mas managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 39th minute, Denis Stanislao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Nacho González had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Stanislao. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Nacho González made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Stanislao in the 53rd minute of play. Denis Stanislao might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nacho González. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denis Stanislao ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Astillero del Guayas's Jorge Iribarren threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zarando Eguizabal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nacho González made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Stanislao in the 61st minute of play. Sacronas Futbol Club's Gilberto Fagildo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bagui Lizana, made in the 63rd minute of the game. Jorge Iribarren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zarando Eguizabal in the 70th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Denis Stanislao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nacho González was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Sixto Ted charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sixto Ted the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd minute, Sixto Ted hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Esteban Txerran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sacronas Futbol Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Esteban Txerran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nacho González breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denis Stanislao in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nacho González prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Clóvis Lima got a free kick in the 79th minute. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Astillero del Guayas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hernan Crespo was slow to take the kick. During this time Sacronas Futbol Club's players had a chance to rest. Kürşat Hamurcu hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustav Vinström got free with Jorge Iribarren in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Stanislao in the 84th minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Nacho González to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Stanislao in the 86th minute of play. Nacho González showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Stanislao, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
