The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thomas Runeberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Lebron in the 2nd minute of play. Norrlands Athen were awarded a corner in the 3th minute after Wolverhampton's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Filcho Slivkov took the corner. Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Söderqwist in the 5th minute of play. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmund Almkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Wolverhampton's Aran Cino got a free kick in the 8th minute. Safet Hands showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Åke Söderqwist, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Wolverhampton's 夏天 Naae got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Wolverhampton booed when Norrlands Athen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Måns Sandberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Wolverhampton's Thomas Runeberg got control of the ball when Måns Sandberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 35 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Qian Zhen Sheng. 39 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Sotiris Koupepes came free, but Safet Hands reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stig-Arne Deckberg hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Aran Cino hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Lebron to make the kick off. Sotiris Koupepes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Safet Hands read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Koupepes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Qian Zhen Sheng was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 63 minutes into the match. Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Hermansson was substituted for Måns Sandberg. In a very dangerous position, a player in Norrlands Athen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! Safet Hands didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmund Almkvist went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Åke Söderqwist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Safet Hands made a huge save. Åke Söderqwist's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Safet Hands skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilbert Hermansson in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Runeberg saved Wolverhampton from getting behind. Safet Hands made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sotiris Koupepes in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Hermansson in the 90th minute of play forced Wolverhampton's goalkeeper Thomas Runeberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Safet Hands made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Sotiris Koupepes sent off a good shot on target. 95 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton's Sotiris Koupepes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Safet Hands narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
