The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stig-Arne Deckberg during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Norrlands Athen getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Stig-Arne Deckberg hit a great ball. Safet Hands made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Sotiris Koupepes sent off a good shot on target. Åke Söderqwist hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Juan Lebron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute Måns Sandberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Runeberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Runeberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Lebron, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Safet Hands made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Sotiris Koupepes sent off a good shot on target. 25 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's Måns Sandberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thomas Runeberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 26 minutes Wolverhampton's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Filcho Slivkov who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Norrlands Athen's corner Filcho Slivkov fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thomas Runeberg quite easily take care of the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Librado Pamperin came free, but Safet Hands reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mathias Alrot charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Alrot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Mathias Alrot got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute Juan Lebron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Runeberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 60 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Filcho Slivkov. Sotiris Koupepes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norrlands Athen made a substitution. Calle Bergfelt replaced Mathias Alrot. Wolverhampton made a substitution. Kang Hong Zhan replaced Librado Pamperin. Thomas Runeberg was a little too slow when Juan Lebron got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-1. If Filcho Slivkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Runeberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filcho Slivkov in the 73rd minute of play. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Koupepes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Sotiris Koupepes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Safet Hands saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute, Filcho Slivkov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thomas Runeberg. The goal made the score 0-2. Gilbert Hermansson scored 0-3 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomas Runeberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 84thth minute of the game Gilbert Hermansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wolverhampton's Thomas Runeberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Norrlands Athen booed when Wolverhampton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sotiris Koupepes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thomas Runeberg was a little too slow when Juan Lebron got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-5. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Jacinto da Silveira got a free kick in the 89th minute. Thomas Runeberg made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Gilbert Hermansson sent off a good shot on target. Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmund Almkvist in the 93rd minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Qian Zhen Sheng in the 96th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Wolverhampton's Guillermo Granäng.
