In the 29thth minute of the game Måns Sandberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hammarby IF's Holger Vester was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Måns Sandberg in the 32nd minute of play forced Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Holger Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the game, one of Hammarby IF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
