The corner led National Team Cape-Verde's Fredric Melander to fire away a dangerous shot which Mattias Håkansson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 24th minute of the match National Team Cape-Verde got a corner. Karlsborg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fredric Melander ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mattias Håkansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredric Melander in the 25th minute of the match. Pål Sefastsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert Lund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bennvar Post got free with Mattias Håkansson in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bennvar Post in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mattias Håkansson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
