Protegéerna's Bolo Skjold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radamel Oakley in the 13th minute of play. Jan Lindström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jakob Lundin in the 16th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Protegéerna's corner Michael Näver fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jan Lindström quite easily take care of the ball. Michael Näver's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Jan Lindström on his right side and into the goal. 18 minutes into the game it was 1-0. In the 30th minute of the game Michael Näver made a throw-in which Jakob Lundin played forward. Jakob Lundin came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jan Lindström could save by the left post. Surahammar's Jan Lindström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Surahammar from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Surahammar's Markus Wallman got a free kick in the 44th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jakob Lundin to make the kick off. Jan Lindström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christer Nyberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Protegéerna's Bolo Skjold proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Protegéerna from getting a goal against them. Surahammar's Zlatan Lion was substituted for Toninho Lara. Surahammar made a substitution. Folke Skröder replaced Vincent Benett. Surahammar's André Pettersson was substituted for Radamel Oakley. After 75 played minutes Surahammar got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Van Dijk. A sloppy throw-in by Paolo-César Maldini in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Surahammar's Billy Fristedt. The audience was convinced that Michael Näver's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Lindström was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. André Pettersson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bolo Skjold came out and tried to block the shot, but André Pettersson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 85th minute. 93 minutes into the game, Michael Näver was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Protegéerna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Surahammar the free kick. Protegéerna were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
