The corner went over the outstretched arms of Blåvitt's goalie and right to Lars Hernström. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Blåvitt's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The supporters of Blåvitt booed when Jonsereds IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Gimeno didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Örjan Johansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blåvitt fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Sixten Sjö took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Mike Cassar Torreggiani to make any attempt to save it. Mike Cassar Torreggiani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hans Kilstedt in the 35th minute. Gil Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gösta Lundberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute Gösta Lundberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Lundberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Sixten Sjö made the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Blåvitt's Gösta Lundberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gil Garcia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. A collision led to Blåvitt getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Jan-Erik Olofsson hit a great ball. In the 68thth minute of the game Sixten Sjö who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blåvitt's Mike Cassar Torreggiani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lars Hernström hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Jonsereds IF's Gil Garcia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Jonsereds IF from getting a goal against them. 72 minutes into the match, Jonsereds IF's goalkeeper Gil Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gösta Lundberg. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Lundberg got free with Gil Garcia in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute Sixten Sjö shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Cassar Torreggiani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonsereds IF were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Blåvitt's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cirilo Rufio took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Cirilo Rufio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mike Cassar Torreggiani quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 87 minutes into the match, Jonsereds IF's goalkeeper Gil Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michel Lundberg. In the 91st minute, Folke Wahlström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Jonsereds IF's Arvid Qvarnström got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Blåvitt's Stefan Eriksson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gil Garcia but with some difficulty. Blåvitt's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
