Gigi Câmpeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laurențiu Floricel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iulian Bucurescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After 38 minutes of play GoooooL's Costică Hidișan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Mihăiţă Ştefulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alin Agud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Gigi Câmpeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute of the match Mihai Odobescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihăiţă Ştefulescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tudor Bărbânță to strike the kick off in the second half. With 52 minutes on the clock, Laurențiu Floricel commited a dangerous tackle. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.
