In the 6th match minute, Academia Rio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Berceanu to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the game, Ana Ţugui recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nechifor Epure. Ana Ţugui showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 15 minutes, Claudiu Bădulescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the -BZF- Valea Buzăului and the Academia Rio players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes -BZF- Valea Buzăului got a freekick which was hit by Claudiu Bădulescu. Vali Ghelmegean kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Ana Ţugui charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ana Ţugui the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th minute, Ana Ţugui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vali Ghelmegean might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manole Tăcutu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vali Ghelmegean ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pavel Ţugui during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st minute, Pavel Ţugui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute of the match Horia Berceanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manole Tăcutu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horia Irimescu in the 36th minute of play forced -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper Manole Tăcutu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horia Irimescu to make the kick off. Nechifor Epure showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ana Ţugui in the 51st minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Claudiu Bădulescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Ana Ţugui managed to get in a good position for a shot. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's supporters rose to their feet, but Ana Ţugui was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nechifor Epure breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Academia Rio's Horia Irimescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Nechifor Epure made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ana Ţugui in the 74th minute of play. The corner ended in Ana Ţugui almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia Rio's Nechifor Epure did a great save. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Ana Ţugui put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nechifor Epure. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by János Oltean in the 79th minute of play. When Pavel Ţugui was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. A collision led to -BZF- Valea Buzăului getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Pavel Ţugui hit a great ball. Horia Berceanu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manole Tăcutu. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horia Irimescu in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manole Tăcutu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Academia Rio's Nechifor Epure played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Bădulescu in the 88th minute of play. When Ştefan Petru fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Rio's protests and gave Ştefan Petru a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, Academia Rio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ştefan Petru to maneuver through the defense. Academia Rio's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
