Julio Mora started the match with the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Buenaventura Paniagua in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Max De Paredes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Mora blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulises Villegas having to make a save. Ulises Villegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luchito Vergara in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th match minute, OROTINENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Ramirez to maneuver through the defense. Max De Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buenaventura Paniagua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th match minute, ORION F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reggie García to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Orozco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max De Paredes having to interfere. Julio Mora might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulises Villegas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julio Mora ran back to his position shaking his head. ORION F.C.'s Max De Paredes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save ORION F.C. from getting a goal against them. Eduardo Calderón took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ulises Villegas. OROTINENSE's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ulises Villegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luchito Vergara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Reggie García managed to get in a good position for a shot. ORION F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Reggie García was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Villegas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, ORION F.C.'s Beto Navarro got a free kick in the 36th minute. A collision led to ORION F.C. getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Reggie García hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute Luchito Vergara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Villegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. OROTINENSE's Ulises Villegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luchito Vergara in the 44th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Buenaventura Paniagua made a kick off. In the 55th minute Alex Santamaria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max De Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Barrantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max De Paredes having to interfere. Max De Paredes came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by OROTINENSE's Buenaventura Paniagua. But to his dismay, Buenaventura Paniagua quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A collision led to OROTINENSE getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Tito Cespedes hit a great ball. The long shot by Juan Herrera in the 97th minute really tested Ulises Villegas's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the OROTINENSE players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
