Flavio Laurgain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramiro Gabrio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Chiquito Martinez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan-Ramón Verón in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Berserkers FC Ψ were awarded a corner. Juan-Ramón Verón went to the cornerflag to take it. Elvio Ted made a great header on Berserkers FC Ψ's corner, it was just that Independiente's Chiquito Martinez managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 10th minute, Elvio Ted left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berserkers FC Ψ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Berserkers FC Ψ's Victor Trigo got a free kick in the 12th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Berserkers FC Ψ's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Laurgain came free, but Ramiro Gabrio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramiro Gabrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Laurgain, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Chiquito Martinez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvio Ted in the 32nd minute of play. After 42 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Napoleon Dropinski. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Berserkers FC Ψ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jorg Pieters was slow to take the kick. During this time Independiente's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Independiente's Jorg Pieters to fire away a dangerous shot which Ramiro Gabrio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Albano Bertol hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Juan-Ramón Verón stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquito Martinez came out of the goal and Juan-Ramón Verón tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramiro Gabrio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Laurgain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramiro Gabrio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorg Pieters in the 63rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan-Ramón Verón got free with Chiquito Martinez in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Independiente's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Juan-Ramón Verón scored to the left of an out of position Chiquito Martinez, making the score, 0-2. Chiquito Martinez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 97th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. The Berserkers FC Ψ players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
