August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Wielowiejski, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Wielowiejski in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg August Hoffmanns saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. Adam Wielowiejski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without August Hoffmanns having to make a save. August Hoffmanns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Wielowiejski in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute of the match, Octavian Basten tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Henrick Zeier saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tarada's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Maximilian Henning was slow to take the kick. During this time Rot-Weiss-Essen's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Rot-Weiss-Essen's corner Maximilian Henning fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Henrick Zeier quite easily take care of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Henrick Zeier successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 27th minute Mesut Özil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrick Zeier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stian Aarflot, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. August Hoffmanns stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam Wielowiejski's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Wielowiejski in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hoffmanns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute, Mesut Özil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Jochen Schaer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tarada fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 39th minute Stian Aarflot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute of the match Tarada got a corner. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adam Wielowiejski ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Tarada's corner Adam Wielowiejski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and August Hoffmanns quite easily take care of the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Anestis Kotsopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrick Zeier. Tarada's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anestis Kotsopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 47th match minute, Tarada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tizian Lengen to maneuver through the defense. Tarada made a substitution. Florian Walther replaced Piotrek Zielinski. Tarada's Massimo Wechsler was substituted for Leif Kohler. In the 48th match minute, Tarada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tizian Lengen to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Maximilian Henning in the 49th minute really tested Henrick Zeier's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adam Wielowiejski to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Octavian Basten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Henrick Zeier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jochen Schaer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Wielowiejski in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute of the match Tarada got a corner. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adam Wielowiejski ran over to the corner to take the kick. August Hoffmanns was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Serge Jeanneret capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Serge Jeanneret really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. In the 77th minute Adam Wielowiejski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Wielowiejski in the 79th minute of play. When Stian Aarflot came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Tarada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stian Aarflot couldn't finish the play. Tarada's Frederik Strzelczyk suffered a concussion after 91 minutes and had to leave the field. After 91 minutes, Mesut Özil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rot-Weiss-Essen and the Tarada players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tarada's Alwin Eiffel was substituted for Frederik Strzelczyk. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Mesut Özil got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 96th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Canal to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
