An unexpectedly hard shot by Pat Eggers in the 12th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Liver Bird's Pat Eggers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stig Verlengia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 39th minute Rot-Weiss-Essen were awarded a corner. Maximilian Henning went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 41stth minute of the game Pat Eggers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ross Flückiger kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Liver Bird's goal looked a bit too open when Anestis Kotsopoulos came free, but Stig Verlengia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Anestis Kotsopoulos made the kick off in the second half. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting a goal against them. August Hoffmanns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Liver Bird's Dimitris Rapsopodis was substituted for Pat Eggers. 81 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacques La Rosa. August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitris Rapsopodis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Rapsopodis came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Timoteo Kuhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. In the 90thth minute of the game Dimitris Rapsopodis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dimitris Rapsopodiss short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got August Hoffmanns to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Anestis Kotsopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stig Verlengia was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. The corner ended in Maximilian Henning almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Liver Bird's Stig Verlengia did a great save. Liver Bird's Timoteo Kuhn was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 95th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
