In the 4th minute, Niclas Monschke made a precise shot to the right of Odysseus Lindenmann. Fire Devils's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Kryspin Cupial made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmílson Gaúcho in the 16th minute. After 19 played minutes SSV Ulm 1846 got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Olof Lilja. Don Merlot struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Odysseus Lindenmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SSV Ulm 1846. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Arne Bengtsson got free with Kryspin Cupial in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Odysseus Lindenmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Merlot, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute Don Merlot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odysseus Lindenmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mitja Wollstadt got a throw-in 32 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sven-Arne Bengtsson. Fire Devils were furious when Yuri Vilaverde was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 40 minutes into the game, one of Fire Devils:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 45 minutes into the match, Fire Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Niclas Monschke came free, but Odysseus Lindenmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Fire Devils players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SSV Ulm 1846 were winning 0-2.

Fire Devils made a substitution. Samuel Giger replaced Garson Pfäffli. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Don Merlot to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Fire Devils's Falko Domini got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Don Merlot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A throw-in in the 65th minute of the game was made by Alex Kopf with Niclas Monschke as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a rather tough play, Fire Devils's Falko Domini got a free kick in the 66th minute. Odysseus Lindenmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niclas Monschke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Benedetto Prüfer in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Fire Devils's Sven-Arne Bengtsson. Dariusz Nalaskowski hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the game, Alex Kopf threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fire Devils's Dariusz Nalaskowski quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 84 minutes into the match, Don Merlot notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Fire Devils's Odysseus Lindenmann. Odysseus Lindenmann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Fire Devils getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Samuel Giger hit a great ball. Odysseus Lindenmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fire Devils's goalkeeper Odysseus Lindenmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
