After a rather tough play, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Adalberto Pedroso got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Martin Pasqua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Vilas Boas in the 5th minute of the match. In the 6th minute of the match Straedelburgh got a corner. Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Caco Araújo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Martin Pasqua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Vilas Boas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustin Guisasola hit a great ball. Martin Pasqua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Araújo in the 34th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Richard Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Straedelburgh's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Pinheiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Pasqua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Michael Helström came free, but Martin Pasqua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Straedelburgh's Karl-Michael Helström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martin Pasqua made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The audience was convinced that Dennis Di Federico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Pasqua was relentless in the 98th minute of the game. Straedelburgh's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Caco Araújo in the 99th minute. A nice corner shot did that Caco Araújo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Martin Pasqua quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
