The audience was convinced that Oliver Bierhoff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andriy Lunin was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. After having played for 12 minutes, Oliver Bierhoff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Delfines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliver Bierhoff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oliver Bierhoff took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andriy Lunin. Andriy Lunin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 18thth minute of the game Oliver Bierhoff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Andriy Lunin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Matías Patrone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niculae Ungureanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 32nd minute of the match, Oliver Bierhoff got a very nice opportunity to score, but Andriy Lunin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Oliver Bierhoff blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andriy Lunin having to make a save. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Nico Schlotter got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 39th match minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Schlotter to maneuver through the defense. Matías Patrone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Brufau in the 42nd minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliver Bierhoff made a kick off. In the 59th minute, Oliver Bierhoff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Los Delfines made a substitution. Zachary Pliszka replaced Oliver Bierhoff. 66 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Saltuk Askeroğlu. Matías Patrone made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Saltuk Askeroğlu sent off a good shot on target. In the 71st minute of the match SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a corner. Los Delfines's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chen Zhen ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 72nd match minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernan Melber to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Zachary Pliszka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Andriy Lunin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Saltuk Askeroğlus short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Matías Patrone to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Raimundo Goyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andriy Lunin having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Saltuk Askeroğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Saltuk Askeroğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matías Patrone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes in the game Valentin Primeiro did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Zachary Pliszka. If Saltuk Askeroğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Saltuk Askeroğlu in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Los Delfines's goalie prevented a goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Los Delfines fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
