In the 5th minute, one of Jenipapo SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jenipapo SC. Jenipapo SC:s Kaká Lopes showed great skill when he stopped João Francisco Mota:s penalty. When Jenipapo SC's Cafu Catarinense in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mestre GG's goalie prevented a goal. Enio Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Kaká Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Amadeu Pombal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaká Lopes. Jenipapo SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amadeu Pombal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jenipapo SC's Kaká Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Fonseca in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Hernani Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wanderson Valadares's late challenge caught a Mestre GG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wanderson Valadares helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 minutes, Tomás Passos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jenipapo SC and the Mestre GG players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Passos to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute Hernani Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Wanderson Valadares got a free kick in the 46th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cafu Catarinense made a kick off. When Leopoldo Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mestre GG's protests and gave Leopoldo Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jenipapo SC booed when Mestre GG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enio Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Couto in the 53rd minute of play. After 55 played minutes Jenipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Cafu Catarinense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Lira in the 58th minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Kaká Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute of the match Alberto Couto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Enio Pinho skillfully saved the ball. Severino Quintal hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Enio Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Amadeu Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mestre GG's supporters rose to their feet, but Amadeu Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jenipapo SC's Kaká Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Jenipapo SC from getting a goal against them. Enio Pinho came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Jenipapo SC's Tomás Passos. But to his dismay, Tomás Passos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 82 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Lira came free, but Kaká Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Mota in the 83rd minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Kaká Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
