The coaching staff of Brasilino protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Juninho Rosa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Juninho Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Octávio Moita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Senna in the 24th minute of play. Frank Senna scored 0-3 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Octávio Moita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 36 minutes into the game, Honorato Calado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brasilino's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Brasilino's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Paixão came free, but Humberto Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Humberto Xavier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gentil Vasques in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Honorato Calado to strike the kick off in the second half. Brasilino's Humberto Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Paixão in the 53rd minute of play. Honorato Calado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Xavier having to interfere. In the 65th minute Gentil Vasques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Paixão.
