After a defensive mix-up in Jenipapo SC's zone, Fiori Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaká Lopes came out of the goal and Fiori Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Humberto Xavier came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Jenipapo SC's Tomás Passos. But to his dismay, Tomás Passos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of Jenipapo SC booed when Brasilino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hílton da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton da Silveira came free, but Kaká Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Jenipapo SC's Kaká Lopes got control of the ball when Fiori Souto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brasilino's Hílton da Silveira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kaká Lopes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fiori Souto got in the 35th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Kaká Lopes handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Fiori Souto sped through Jenipapo SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kaká Lopes. Cafu Catarinense took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Humberto Xavier. Humberto Xavier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 42nd match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesinha Godoi to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute of the match Hílton da Silveira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kaká Lopes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cafu Catarinense was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás Passos got free with Humberto Xavier in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the game, Cafu Catarinense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Humberto Xavier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Humberto Xavier made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Wanderson Valadares sent off a good shot on target. Murilo Pena hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes Jenipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Cacá Brodel. After 67 minutes, Cesinha Godoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jenipapo SC and the Brasilino players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th minute, Cesinha Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brasilino's Hílton da Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brasilino reached it. Humberto Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu Catarinense in the 86th minute of play. Humberto Xavier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jenipapo SC. In the 93rd match minute, Brasilino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Fiori Souto's late challenge caught a Jenipapo SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fiori Souto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Brasilino getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Fiori Souto hit a great ball. Jenipapo SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
