Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Divina Comédia FC booed when Nada Pontual F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Eduardo Martins hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Evandro Maia came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Divina Comédia FC's Dieguinho de Almeida. But to his dismay, Dieguinho de Almeida quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 20th minute, Zézinho Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evandro Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evandro Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Rui Romero hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Divina Comédia FC's Dorian Valladares got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute Antônio Carlos Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorian Valladares might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evandro Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorian Valladares ran back to his position shaking his head. Flavinho Hermes took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Evandro Maia. Evandro Maia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Dorian Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 53rd minute, Nada Pontual F.C's Lino Cordeiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Lino Cordeiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Nada Pontual F.C protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lino Cordeiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nada Pontual F.C! In the 60th minute of the match, Dorian Valladares got a very nice opportunity to score, but Evandro Maia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Evandro Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Hermes in the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Nada Pontual F.C's goalkeeper Evandro Maia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dieguinho de Almeida. Evandro Maia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorian Valladares in the 69th minute. After 69 played minutes Nada Pontual F.C got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Sena. The ball had pretty good speed, but Evandro Maia firmly grabbed it by the left post. Divina Comédia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nada Pontual F.C the free kick. José Paulo Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Divina Comédia FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
