After taking down the ball on Jenipapo SC's corner Percy Lopes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rogério Ceni quite easily take care of the ball. When José Pedro Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Jenipapo SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Pedro Coutinho couldn't finish the play. Aloísio Chulapa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Lopes having to interfere. Jenipapo SC's Kaká Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano Gøl in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Luan Toscano hit a great ball. When José Paulo Negri fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Divina Comédia FC's protests and gave José Paulo Negri a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Dedê Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Divina Comédia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedê Cerezo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aloísio Chulapa in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kaká Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Gøl in the 32nd minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Kaká Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Pedro Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Rogério Ceni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luiz Fabiano Gøl to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Cacá Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Ceni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogério Ceni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Coutinho in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Percy Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jenipapo SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Divina Comédia FC the free kick. After 59 played minutes Jenipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Percy Lopes. A hard shot by Frederico Varela from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Kaká Lopes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Rogério Ceni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Magalhães in the 65th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Divina Comédia FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Coutinho came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Divina Comédia FC's Rogério Ceni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Magalhães in the 72nd minute of play. José Paulo Negri hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After 74 minutes of play Divina Comédia FC's José Paulo Negri was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. José Paulo Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. José Pedro Coutinho took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogério Ceni. Rogério Ceni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Luiz Fabiano Gøl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Kaká Lopes made a huge save. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Jenipapo SC had played much better football throughout.
