Júnior Pires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandrinho Pinho in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when Lobo Guará was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Sandrinho Pinho took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Júnior Pires to make any attempt to save it. In the 12th minute, Gustavo Nunes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lobo Guará fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. João Prata hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Nunes in the 28th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Eliseu Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Capibaribe Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Penha to maneuver through the defense. After 33 minutes of play, Lobo Guará's Claudinei Tande made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eliseu Toscano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adalberto Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Capibaribe Stars's Eliseu Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Leite in the 40th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Rodriguinho Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lobo Guará's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodriguinho Motta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseu Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Capibaribe Stars getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Nico Penha hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The referee felt a red card was in order, 55 minutes into the game, when Leonel Varela put in a rough tackle. 60 minutes into the match, Gustavo Nunes notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Capibaribe Stars's Eliseu Toscano. Eliseu Toscano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 64th minute of the match, Gustavo Nunes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eliseu Toscano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Claudinei Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson da Silva came free, but Eliseu Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Róbson da Silva got free with Eliseu Toscano in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lobo Guará's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
