Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Telmo Cruz in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basilio Justin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Dedê Freire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basilio Justin was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Telmo Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Justin having to interfere. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Telmo Cruz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basilio Justin. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basilio Justin should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 20 minutes into the game, when Serafim Mendonça put in a rough tackle. In the 20th minute, Serafim Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Eriberto da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eriberto da Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto da Fonseca couldn't finish the play. Basilio Justin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tales de Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Basilio Justin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Berger in the 33rd minute of the match. Basilio Justin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eriberto da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Luizão Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Joanes in the 42nd minute of play. The Club Atlético Atlanta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eriberto da Fonseca to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Atlanta's zone, Dedê Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basilio Justin came out of the goal and Dedê Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dedê Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dionisio Monico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basilio Justin made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Dedê Freire sent off a good shot on target. Eriberto da Fonseca's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Basilio Justin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Paulino Frechoso kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Paulino Frechoso hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match.
