But to his dismay, Agostinho Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 22 minutes into the match, 卡納里尼奧 FC's goalkeeper Carlos Marinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adilson Tavares. Régis Vides took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseu Toscano. Eliseu Toscano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Capibaribe Stars's Eliseu Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Guedes in the 26th minute of play. After 32 minutes of play, 卡納里尼奧 FC's Régis Vides made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eliseu Toscano was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th minute, Agostinho Guedes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliseu Toscano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adilson Tavares to make the kick off. Gildo de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 62 minutes, Luiz Paulo Tinoco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capibaribe Stars and the 卡納里尼奧 FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Capibaribe Stars's Eliseu Toscano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Capibaribe Stars from getting a goal against them. Laerte Marquez's late challenge caught a Capibaribe Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laerte Marquez helped the player get up and apologised. After 70 played minutes 卡納里尼奧 FC got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Marquez. In the 76th minute, Agostinho Guedes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eliseu Toscano. The goal made the score 0-6. Eliseu Toscano was a little too slow when Laerte Marquez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 0-7. In the 82nd minute Laerte Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laerte Marquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseu Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Gildo de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. 卡納里尼奧 FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gildo de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseu Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eliseu Toscano was a little too slow when Régis Vides got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-8. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when 卡納里尼奧 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball.
