After 5 minutes Villa Mitre City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yuan Lin Shi who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Barrenta SC's Genílson Leite getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. With an all-out effort, Barrenta SC's Ariel Ponc threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nariman Mansourian, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ariel Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fellipe Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Arsenio Maria came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Villa Mitre City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arsenio Maria couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute Nariman Mansourian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ariel Ponc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Tastzian in the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of Barrenta SC booed when Villa Mitre City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Maria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ariel Ponc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute Agustín Tastzian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Tastzian in the 70th minute of play. If Mauricio Macías had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Villa Mitre City made a substitution. Norbert Huratiak replaced Urbano Mendiko. In the 74th minute Agustín Tastzian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Trigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauricio Macías's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Gilmar da Rocha made in the 79th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Urban Stenman. In the 83rd minute, Agustín Tastzian ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ariel Ponc was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urban Stenman in the 92nd minute of play forced Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Ariel Ponc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Madison in the 93rd minute of play.
