The referee ignored Olympique Gdynia's protests and gave Phạm Nguyet a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Olympique Gdynia getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Czeslaw Domeracki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Olympique Gdynia defense, Edílson Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tanek Ostrowski. The Olympique Gdynia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tanek Ostrowski should have stopped the shot. Fifth Chicken made a substitution. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldemar Tipinski in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tanek Ostrowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 93rd minute, Fabio-Roman Zabaleta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Olympique Gdynia manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Fifth Chicken to win.
