An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 11th minute of play forced La Zorro Negro's goalkeeper José Luis Heidemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Luis Heidemann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. FC CSKA were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after La Zorro Negro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Georgi Dimitrov took the corner. After taking down the ball on FC CSKA's corner Georgi Dimitrov fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and José Luis Heidemann quite easily take care of the ball. Hermelando Jaen kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Ahmet Refik Ülgü left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC CSKA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Zorro Negro's goalkeeper José Luis Heidemann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 28th minute FC CSKA were awarded a corner. Georgi Dimitrov went to the cornerflag to take it. José Luis Heidemann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 34th minute of play forced La Zorro Negro's goalkeeper José Luis Heidemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Ahmet Refik Ülgü's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Luis Heidemann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. La Zorro Negro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Ahmet Refik Ülgü scored to the left of an out of position José Luis Heidemann, making the score, 0-3. FC CSKA's Ruslan Dzhalev was substituted for Ahmet Refik Ülgü. FC CSKA made a substitution. Marian Pachev replaced Tanel Kiik. In the 66th minute, Todor Yanchev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute FC CSKA were awarded a corner. Georgi Dimitrov went to the cornerflag to take it. La Zorro Negro's José Luis Heidemann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruslan Dzhalev in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Ruslan Dzhalev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Luis Heidemann. La Zorro Negro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruslan Dzhalev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Ruslan Dzhalev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 88 minutes into the match, La Zorro Negro's goal looked a bit too open when Ruslan Dzhalev came free, but José Luis Heidemann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 90th minute of the game was made by Marian Pachev with Téo Vieira as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 91 minutes into the game, FC CSKA's Ruslan Dzhalev nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Luis Heidemann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. When Ruslan Dzhalev came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the FC CSKA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruslan Dzhalev couldn't finish the play. In the 96th match minute, FC CSKA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Hainl to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC CSKA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
