An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Santana in the 4th minute of play forced Spor Las Huevas's goalkeeper Ascencio Sotelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goalkeeper Ronaldo Giovanelli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lartaun Riera. 13 minutes into the match, Spor Las Huevas's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Ascencio Sotelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bilbo Bermudez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronaldo Giovanelli firmly grabbed it by the left post. Carlos Santana scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ascencio Sotelo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Urtzi Zamorano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ronaldo Giovanelli. That made the score 1-1 in the 28 minute of play. Ascencio Sotelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, Spor Las Huevas's Celio Pujol got a free kick in the 41st minute. Ascencio Sotelo came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana. But to his dismay, Carlos Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Galo do Japi were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Urtzi Zamorano to make the kick off. Galo do Japi's César dos Santos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by David Rauch in the 54 minute of the game. A collision led to Galo do Japi getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Paulo Renato Saraiva hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxin Ceberiche in the 57th minute of play forced Galo do Japi's goalkeeper Ronaldo Giovanelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldo Giovanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lartaun Riera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ascencio Sotelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Urtzi Zamorano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Ronaldo Giovanelli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mazuste Quizan made in the 66th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Galo do Japi's Eriberto de Souza. Ronaldo Giovanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bilbo Bermudez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes in the game Mazuste Quizan did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Maxin Ceberiche. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when Spor Las Huevas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazuste Quizan didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxin Ceberiche in the 72nd minute of play forced Galo do Japi's goalkeeper Ronaldo Giovanelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Erez Negrini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ascencio Sotelo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 82 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Saraiva. In the 85th minute of the match, Cafu Ringaa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ascencio Sotelo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 86th match minute, Spor Las Huevas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazuste Quizan to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Spor Las Huevas's Mazuste Quizan got a free kick in the 91st minute. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bilbo Bermudez in the 96th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
