The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arsenio Claus during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 2nd match minute, Salmiyah Power was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Claus to maneuver through the defense. Hemza Derrida came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Astillero del Guayas's Ulizes Sola. But to his dismay, Ulizes Sola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Salmiyah Power's Arsenio Claus in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Astillero del Guayas's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Juan-Pablo Leyarte got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 9th match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan-Pablo Leyarte to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute of the match Leonard Bărnuțiu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nacho González showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Ulizes Sola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astillero del Guayas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulizes Sola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nacho González made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsenio Claus in the 26th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Arsenio Claus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nacho González was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Ulizes Sola got a free kick in the 30th minute. With his leg Nacho González managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Salmiyah Power's Arsenio Claus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 38thth minute of the game Arsenio Claus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nacho González made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lakhdar Guendouz in the 39th minute. Hemza Derrida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulizes Sola in the 40th minute of play. Zarando Eguizabal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Salmiyah Power's Lakhdar Guendouz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nacho González. That made the score 2-1 after 43 minutes of play.

The wind increased when Arsenio Claus made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Salmiyah Power booed when Astillero del Guayas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustav Vinström didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zarando Eguizabal in the 59th minute of play forced Salmiyah Power's goalkeeper Hemza Derrida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hemza Derrida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zarando Eguizabal, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, Salmiyah Power's Hemza Derrida got control of the ball when Ulizes Sola tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nacho González showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lakhdar Guendouz, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Hemza Derrida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xaiver Ascarretazabal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremias Ganix kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Salmiyah Power's Hemza Derrida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xaiver Ascarretazabal in the 89th minute of play. Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lakhdar Guendouz in the 91st minute of play. Ulizes Sola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Hemza Derrida made a huge save.
