Mineiros Esporte Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mazinho Mendonça in the 25th minute. After taking down the ball on Mineiros Esporte Clube's corner Mazinho Mendonça fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jiang Lei quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Mineiros Esporte Clube's Marcus de Godoi got control of the ball when Paulo Maldini tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jiang Lei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin von Gyldenfeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 42ndth minute of the game Robin von Gyldenfeldt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CERRO PORTEÑO's Jiang Lei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mazinho Mendonça in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jiang Lei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

CERRO PORTEÑO's 任棋振 was substituted for Moreno Martins. In the 53rd minute, Mohieddine Ayari ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcus de Godoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Mohieddine Ayari took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcus de Godoi. Marcus de Godoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 60 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Jiang Lei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robin von Gyldenfeldt. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mineiros Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Marcus de Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
