In the 17th minute of the match Gothic Souls got a corner. Persepolis F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Filomeno Olivos ran over to the corner to take the kick. 20 minutes into the match, Persepolis F.C.'s goalkeeper Santos Perez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erhan Ascı. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arden Poulin in the 21st minute of play forced Gothic Souls's goalkeeper Lemi Uğurlubey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Persepolis F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 26thth minute of the game Erhan Ascı who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erhan Ascı might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santos Perez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erhan Ascı ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erhan Ascı got free with Santos Perez in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Erhan Ascı made the kick off in the second half. After 50 minutes, Gwidon Seliga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Persepolis F.C. and the Gothic Souls players grew even worse after the yellow card.
