The goal made the score 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, Sporting Savaria's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Chabier came free, but Márton Gombos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Márton Gombos had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Jesus Ofelio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Márton Gombos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristo Rey's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After 36 minutes Sporting Savaria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jesus Ofelio who took care of the corner kick. Cristo Rey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Márton Gombos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristo Rey couldn't finish the play.
