An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio de Sousa in the 4th minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Célio de Sousa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Independente FC's Nestor Quintal. Nestor Quintal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If José Vítor Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Zé Carlos de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquinhos Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquinhos Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos de Azevedo in the 27th minute of play. Wilian Antunes took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nestor Quintal. Nestor Quintal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. José Vítor Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Marquinhos Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Branco got free with Nestor Quintal in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Branco. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

In the 50th minute, Emanuel Branco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 52 minutes into the game, Jovens Democratas MZC's Wilian Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nestor Quintal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Carlos Lopes hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 60th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Branco to maneuver through the defense. When Evaristo Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jovens Democratas MZC's protests and gave Evaristo Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jovens Democratas MZC! Nestor Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Nestor Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Branco in the 75th minute of play. Nestor Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian Antunes in the 76th minute of the match. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Antunes in the 76th minute of play.
