Juan-Ramón Verón was slow to take the kick. During this time Berserkers FC Ψ's players had a chance to rest. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Godofredo James advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 16th minute. Lino Lizbeth kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan-Ramón Verón in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ioan Voicu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Hector Fernandez put in a rough tackle. In the 42nd minute, one of Club Atlético Temperley:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club Atlético Temperley. Club Atlético Temperley:s Ioan Voicu showed great skill when he stopped Juan-Ramón Verón:s penalty. 0-2 came in the 45th minute when Juan-Ramón Verón all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Ioan Voicu. After the first half Berserkers FC Ψ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Berserkers FC Ψ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hermengildo Raymon was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Atlético Temperley's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Club Atlético Temperley's Marco Villerias to fire away a dangerous shot which Ramiro Gabrio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Berserkers FC Ψ's Rigoberto Aragones was substituted for Godofredo James. Gaston Laurendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Berserkers FC Ψ made a substitution. Steve Harris replaced Elvio Ted. In the 65th minute Melchor Garoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ioan Voicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Cordarell's late challenge caught a Berserkers FC Ψ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orlando Cordarell helped the player get up and apologised. Gaston Laurendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Gabrio having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Hermengildo Raymon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético Temperley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Ramiro Gabrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Solares in the 87th minute of play. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Temperley from getting a goal against them. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
