The audience was convinced that James Madison's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evelio Milian was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Ariel Ponc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolo Buinton in the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Villa Mitre City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jeremias Gaitano was slow to take the kick. During this time Jarana FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Mateusz Piontkovskiy almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc did a great save. Bartolo Buinton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ariel Ponc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Ariel Ponc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bartolo Buinton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saturnino Lehior in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evelio Milian saved Jarana FC from getting behind. With a little luck, Jarana FC's Evelio Milian got control of the ball when Saturnino Lehior tried to sneak it across the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Arsenio Maria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Evelio Milian. Arsenio Maria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 46th minute, Everardo Lucero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bartolo Buinton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Ponc having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and James Madison made a kick off. In the 57th minute, Bartolo Buinton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ariel Ponc was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Ariel Ponc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc got control of the ball when Bartolo Buinton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Evelio Milian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from James Madison in the 67th minute of the match. Jarana FC's Sigve Rossland was substituted for Honorio Hunfredo. In the 79th minute, Mauricio Macías left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villa Mitre City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 92 played minutes Jarana FC got a freekick which was hit by Joop Deswarte. Wilfredo Gitano scored 2-2 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ariel Ponc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
