The audience thought a goal was coming when Gábor Joó got free with Reynaldo Jaume in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th minute, József Földvári hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If László Gácsi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Szittyák SE rege's Reynaldo Jaume got control of the ball when Gábor Joó tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rene Higuita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lénárd Kósa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The throw-in from Arnold Cziránku in the 28th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Valencia CF Mindszent's Maurício Monsanto. In the 30thth minute of the game Gábor Joó who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Szittyák SE rege's Reynaldo Jaume was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Christos Xenidis in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Szittyák SE rege's Zsolt Kardos. If László Gácsi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36thth minute of the game László Gácsi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valencia CF Mindszent's Rene Higuita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Gábor Joó took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Reynaldo Jaume to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Valencia CF Mindszent getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Maurício Monsanto hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gábor Joó was the one to do the kick off.
