Delmiro Iztal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stephen Vicente showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 26 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pornsak Seearamrungruang in the 36th minute of play forced Club Atlético Escocia's goalkeeper Delmiro Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stephen Vicente hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Pornsak Seearamrungruang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmiro Iztal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Pornsak Seearamrungruang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Ulric Donsante took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Delmiro Iztal to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

After some careless play in the Club Atlético Escocia defense, Stephen Vicente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delmiro Iztal. The Club Atlético Escocia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delmiro Iztal should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Atlético Escocia's Facundo Nahas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dieter Gärtner. That made the score 4-3 after 62 minutes of play. FC Lugano's Gauthier Lepre was substituted for Fidelio Haller. Delmiro Iztal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matteo Gartenmann went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-3 was the resulting score. Club Atlético Escocia made a substitution. Sebastian Selatse replaced Lucas Quinto. Club Atlético Escocia's Delmiro Iztal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tito Waechter in the 73rd minute of play. Delmiro Iztal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pornsak Seearamrungruang in the 75th minute of play. Tito Waechter struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Delmiro Iztal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Lugano. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Atlético Escocia's Aquiles Lazcano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dieter Gärtner. That made the score 5-4 after 82 minutes of play. FC Lugano's Dieter Gärtner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save FC Lugano from getting a goal against them. Delmiro Iztal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matteo Gartenmann in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matteo Gartenmann in the 95th minute of play forced Club Atlético Escocia's goalkeeper Delmiro Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Lugano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
