A sloppy throw-in by Lei Xiang Rong in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SSV Ulm 1846's Alex Kopf. Hannover Reds's Bernd Yuschni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Merlot in the 9th minute of play. Lei Xiang Rong made in the 10th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SSV Ulm 1846's Alex Kopf. Bernd Yuschni didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Don Merlot went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Bernd Yuschni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 21st minute of play. Albrecht Bosbach scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernd Yuschni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilio Argina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Niclas Monschke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernd Yuschni was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Lars Voss might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kryspin Cupial. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lars Voss ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Don Merlot got free with Bernd Yuschni in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kryspin Cupial came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Hannover Reds's Emilio Argina. But to his dismay, Emilio Argina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-8. The audience was convinced that Don Merlot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernd Yuschni was relentless in the 88th minute of the game.
