Anselmo Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk Veerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 43 played minutes AYYILDIZ got a freekick which was hit by Bican Direnç. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antonio Romino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anselmo Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henk Veerman in the 54th minute of the match. Gregorio Ruiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Cihan Zafer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to AYYILDIZ getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Bican Direnç hit a great ball. Henk Veerman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Furlan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. When Lukas Kvarnström fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AYYILDIZ's protests and gave Lukas Kvarnström a yellow card for diving instead.
