Karol Ruszkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio-Roman Zabaleta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hadi Özilhan in the 10th minute of play forced Olympique Gdynia's goalkeeper Tanek Ostrowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 minutes Olympique Gdynia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Robert Doicaru who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Jakub Felenak almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olympique Gdynia's Tanek Ostrowski did a great save. Zgierskie Zlewy's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 24 minutes into the match, Olympique Gdynia's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Doicaru came free, but Tanek Ostrowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from German Eskuin in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Zgierskie Zlewy's Norbert Podowski. When Olympique Gdynia's Czeslaw Domeracki in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zgierskie Zlewy's goalie prevented a goal. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Olympique Gdynia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Robert Doicaru was slow to take the kick. During this time Zgierskie Zlewy's players had a chance to rest. 40 minutes into the match, Olympique Gdynia's Czeslaw Domeracki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karol Ruszkowski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tanek Ostrowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hadi Özilhan in the 42nd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Zgierskie Zlewy's Dobromir Rukszcz was substituted for Norbert Podowski. Zgierskie Zlewy's Barnaba Bazylnikov was substituted for Robert Doicaru. Zgierskie Zlewy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
