HIT Gorica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FK Željezničar the free kick. Zlatko Goričan hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Konstantin Pančur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikola Bogdanović in the 6th minute of play. Konstantin Pančur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camillo Pesce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Konstantin Pančur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikola Bogdanović in the 12th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Nikola Bogdanović made a precise shot to the right of Konstantin Pančur. HIT Gorica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. HIT Gorica's Konstantin Pančur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikola Bogdanović in the 23rd minute of play. Nikola Bogdanović's late challenge caught a HIT Gorica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nikola Bogdanović helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Nikola Bogdanović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 42 played minutes FK Željezničar got a freekick which was hit by Nikola Bogdanović. László Tar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Grigoris Koufakis. FK Željezničar's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelson Mandela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. HIT Gorica's Konstantin Pančur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikola Bogdanović in the 56th minute of play. In the 56th match minute, HIT Gorica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zlatko Goričan to maneuver through the defense. After 58 played minutes HIT Gorica got a freekick which was hit by Zlatko Goričan. HIT Gorica's Quentin Willmott was substituted for Constantino Eguntsenti. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelson Mandela in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konstantin Pančur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adi Jusufović replaced Nelson Mandela. After 77 played minutes HIT Gorica got a freekick which was hit by Teodosio Orzaize. In the 78th minute, Camillo Pesce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FK Željezničar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Adi Jusufović scored 5-0 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Konstantin Pančur, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Grigoris Koufakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Orzaize in the 88th minute of play. With an all-out effort, HIT Gorica's Grigoris Koufakis threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Istok Šabotić, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zlatko Goričan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Grigoris Koufakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the FK Željezničar players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
