After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Nichifor Codruț managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C.BARLAD's supporters rose to their feet, but Nichifor Codruț was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl-Ove Andersson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Adam Gheorghiță fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C.BARLAD's protests and gave Adam Gheorghiță a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia booed when F.C.BARLAD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Gheorghiță didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Nichifor Codruț came free, but Karl-Ove Andersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nichifor Codruț in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Ove Andersson saved FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting behind. Tudor Bărbânță took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wojtek Szczęsny. Wojtek Szczęsny dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Felix Chirtoacă kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Karl-Ove Andersson got control of the ball when Braulio Castel tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th minute Nichifor Codruț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Ove Andersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tudor Bărbânță made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nichifor Codruț in the 53rd minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Andersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Nichifor Codruț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Ove Andersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Ove Andersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braulio Castel in the 56th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes FC UNIREA Alba Iulia got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Casian. Dumitru Surdu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Nichifor Codruț's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Ove Andersson was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Karl-Ove Andersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nichifor Codruț in the 66th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Felix Chirtoacă in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by F.C.BARLAD's János Csongrádi. F.C.BARLAD's Nichifor Codruț got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nichifor Codruț in the 81st minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Andersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Ove Andersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichifor Codruț, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute Nichifor Codruț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Ove Andersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nichifor Codruț ran back to his position shaking his head. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Karl-Ove Andersson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Codruț in the 98th minute of play. F.C.BARLAD's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
