The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. William Lucas's late challenge caught a Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Lucas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd match minute, Villaverde Celeste Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Lucas to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Makaay came free, but Lütfi Kutlubay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Eduardo Angulo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Israel Otsando, made in the 11th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's zone, Roy Makaay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lütfi Kutlubay came out of the goal and Roy Makaay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Chiquinho Pombal came free, but Nenko Reza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16thth minute of the game Roy Makaay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Lütfi Kutlubay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 19 minutes Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Guo Ao who took care of the corner kick. Dito Araújo hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 21 minutes of play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Roy Makaay made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lütfi Kutlubay was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Pombal in the 25th minute of play forced Villaverde Celeste Clube's goalkeeper Nenko Reza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Otávio Freitas in the 28th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Villaverde Celeste Clube's Dino Manfredi. Guo Ao made a great header on Villaverde Celeste Clube's corner, it was just that Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Lütfi Kutlubay managed to reach the ball for a save. Lütfi Kutlubay came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Villaverde Celeste Clube's Roy Makaay. But to his dismay, Roy Makaay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 36 minutes into the match, Thibault Delanoë notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza. Nenko Reza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Thibault Delanoë hit a great ball. After the first half Villaverde Celeste Clube were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chiquinho Pombal to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Roy Makaay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lütfi Kutlubay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Araújo came free, but Nenko Reza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nenko Reza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dito Araújo in the 61st minute of play. Nenko Reza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burak Onal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Massa in the 64th minute of play. Roy Makaay might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lütfi Kutlubay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roy Makaay ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute Roy Makaay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lütfi Kutlubay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lütfi Kutlubay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Makaay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Chiquinho Pombal came free, but Nenko Reza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otávio Freitas made in the 71st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Villaverde Celeste Clube's Dino Manfredi. In the 73rd minute, Joélson Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 83 in the game by Kıraç Uskan from a close distance when the talented Lütfi Kutlubay managed to make a qualified save. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's players were relieved. Roy Makaay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 89th minute Thibault Delanoë shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nenko Reza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Otávio Freitas in the 93rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Villaverde Celeste Clube's Dino Manfredi. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
