Angelo Melani acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 19th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Michal Budzyn. After 20 played minutes Camron Rhodes rounded Whity Pool United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. 23 minutes into the match, Whity Pool United's goal looked a bit too open when Camron Rhodes came free, but Angelo Melani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grant Blacknell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Syd Ely in the 28th minute of play. Grant Blacknell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charis Vlastaras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Charis Vlastaras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charis Vlastaras in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Grant Blacknell saved Leicester Lions from getting behind. In the 37th minute Whity Pool United were awarded a corner. Henry Soussan went to the cornerflag to take it. Will Patton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Angelo Melani made a huge save. In the 40th minute, Leicester Lions's Tod Freeman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Şükür Hagi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Angelo Melani made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Whity Pool United's Daniel Jenkins got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Charis Vlastaras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Grant Blacknell successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 62nd minute Şükür Hagi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Melani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Leicester Lions's Will Patton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Melani made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Tod Freeman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Leicester Lions from getting a goal against them. Pete Sutcliffe kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Grant Blacknell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charis Vlastaras in the 73rd minute of play. Henry Soussan made a great header on Whity Pool United's corner, it was just that Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell managed to reach the ball for a save.
