In the 4th minute Iwo Sawicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andriy Lunin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Niculae Ungureanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josef Witlatschil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pentti Ojala in the 17th minute of play. If Niculae Ungureanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saltuk Askeroğlu in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josef Witlatschil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22nd minute, Iwo Sawicki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andriy Lunin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niculae Ungureanu in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josef Witlatschil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 30 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Christo Bothenhain came free, but Andriy Lunin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Schlotter to maneuver through the defense. Christo Bothenhain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andriy Lunin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Tiger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikael Siltavirta to maneuver through the defense. When Saltuk Askeroğlu came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saltuk Askeroğlu couldn't finish the play. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louis Leißner, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niculae Ungureanu to make the kick off. 50 minutes in the game Mikael Siltavirta did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Pentti Ojala. After 52 minutes of play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Saltuk Askeroğlu made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Josef Witlatschil was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Iwo Sawicki scored to the left of an out of position Andriy Lunin, making the score, 3-3. Josef Witlatschil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saltuk Askeroğlu in the 60th minute of the match. If Saltuk Askeroğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kevin Schade hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Tiger made a substitution. Marten Weise replaced Iwo Sawicki. Kevin Schade kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Marten Weise struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Andriy Lunin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tiger. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saltuk Askeroğlu in the 75th minute of play forced Tiger's goalkeeper Josef Witlatschil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 minutes, Christo Bothenhain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tiger and the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tiger getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Christo Bothenhain hit a great ball. Josef Witlatschil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Ungureanu in the 79th minute of play. Andriy Lunin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marten Weise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Henning Fink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Siegfried Danielzick hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Merlin Röhl was substituted for Kevin Schade. The supporters of Tiger booed when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siegfried Danielzick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiger's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. had won, even though Tiger had held more of the ball.
