Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Radenko Mayer successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of KFC Uerdingen 05:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Möhnsen FC:s goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karsten Illgner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Konrad Bogs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Illgner in the 51st minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Rudi Georgii had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Radenko Mayer. KFC Uerdingen 05's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rudi Georgii was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Möhnsen FC's Peer Hafner got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute Yavuz Köffers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radenko Mayer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Knut Naumann came free, but Radenko Mayer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joseph Hussen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konrad Bogs having to interfere. Karsten Illgner's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Konrad Bogs skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
