Jakob Heinicke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Linkhorst in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Independência Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Våleman came free, but Jakob Heinicke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toto Arebam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Patrick Armstrong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Peter Linkhorst ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jakob Heinicke was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. But to his dismay, Peter Linkhorst quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 40th minute Adrian Våleman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jakob Heinicke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of ManagerZone Crew booed when Independência Futebol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ronaldinho Gaúcho came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Independência Futebol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldinho Gaúcho couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Chiquinho Vander lost his temper 65 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Independência Futebol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ManagerZone Crew the free kick.
