Gervásio Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Janusz Wielowiejski in the 5th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Palmiro Bettencourt got free with Brun Hello in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brun Hello made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Klaus Van Mellart sent off a good shot on target. After 9 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Hikmet Bahar. AC Milan's Brun Hello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Palmiro Bettencourt in the 14th minute of play. Palmiro Osório hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. AC Milan's Brun Hello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save AC Milan from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Lu Chen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Brun Hello. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Gervásio Sousa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrea Pugliese went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, AC Milan's Brun Hello got control of the ball when Klaus Van Mellart tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brun Hello made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Palmiro Bettencourt sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Atlético Micaelense getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Palmiro Osório hit a great ball. In the 28th minute Andrea Pugliese shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervásio Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match, Lu Chen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Brun Hello saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 31 minutes into the match, Janusz Wielowiejski notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Atlético Micaelense's Gervásio Sousa. Gervásio Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Klaus Van Mellart's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Brun Hello skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 38 minutes into the match, AC Milan's Haroldo Dzik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gervásio Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brun Hello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lu Chen in the 39th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, AC Milan's Haroldo Dzik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gervásio Sousa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After the first half AC Milan were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Palmiro Bettencourt made the kick off in the second half. If Andrea Pugliese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Gervásio Sousa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaus Van Mellart in the 56th minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Brun Hello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brun Hello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lu Chen in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute Andrea Pugliese shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervásio Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gervásio Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Dzik in the 62nd minute of the match. AC Milan's Brun Hello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Palmiro Bettencourt in the 67th minute of play. Leal Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. AC Milan's Dedê Oliveira was substituted for Hikmet Bahar. In the 69th minute, Leal Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gervásio Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janusz Wielowiejski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atlético Micaelense's Gervásio Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrea Pugliese in the 82nd minute of play. Vítor Águas kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Andrea Pugliese managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Milan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrea Pugliese was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute, AC Milan's Andrea Pugliese ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gervásio Sousa. Gervásio Sousa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. 94 minutes into the match, Haroldo Dzik had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gervásio Sousa. Atlético Micaelense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Haroldo Dzik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AC Milan walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
