After a defensive mix-up in Tranquilate's zone, Klaus Van Mellart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeronimo Lizar came out of the goal and Klaus Van Mellart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gervásio Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nereo Guipuzkoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Pablo Lizzio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervásio Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Guipuzkoa in the 29th minute of play forced Atlético Micaelense's goalkeeper Gervásio Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Lu Chen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jeronimo Lizar. Lu Chen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Lu Chen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeronimo Lizar was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 38th minute, Leal Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lu Chen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. Tranquilate's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Lizzio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gervásio Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atlético Micaelense's 杨国洲 was substituted for Vítor Resende.
