The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Manoel Neuer successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cícero da Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manoel Neuer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cícero da Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Xu Li Sang put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Melquiades Amor. When Jovens Democratas MZC's Dobromir Zagrodny in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalie prevented a goal. Arí Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xu Li Sang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melquiades Amor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. When Jovens Democratas MZC's Xu Li Sang in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Melquiades Amor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco van Basten's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 34thth minute of the game Xu Li Sang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute Dobromir Zagrodny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Amor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jovens Democratas MZC were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dobromir Zagrodny took the corner. Durval de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Amor having to interfere. Jovens Democratas MZC were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dobromir Zagrodny took the corner. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xu Li Sang made a kick off. Xu Li Sang's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Melquiades Amor skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper Melquiades Amor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Melquiades Amor was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Durval de Queirós showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 58 minute of play. Marco van Basten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xu Li Sang got free with Melquiades Amor in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laerte Bittencourt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melquiades Amor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Jovens Democratas MZC's Durval de Queirós was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 82nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Jovens Democratas MZC's André Luiz Medeiros was substituted for Durval de Queirós. Jovens Democratas MZC's Giuseppe Negri was substituted for Serginho Sabóia. Xu Li Sang was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 90th minute. Jovens Democratas MZC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Manoel Neuer came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Felippe Paranaense. But to his dismay, Felippe Paranaense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Giuseppe Negri who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Melquiades Amor when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 97 minutes into the match, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper Melquiades Amor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dobromir Zagrodny. The Jovens Democratas MZC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jovens Democratas MZC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
